Attendance

How does occasional absence affect my child?

Missing occasional days from school may seem unimportant at the time; however, this can have a significant impact on your child in the long term:

We would like to inform all parents that Government legislation changes mean that a persistent absence level has now been raised from 85% to 90%. From September 2013 Education Regulations removed reference to holidays during term time and no longer permit schools to authorise holidays. As a result of this, no requests for holidays will be authorised during term time.

Should you take your child out for a term time holiday, it is important that parents give the school a minimum of 14 days notice. We require you to provide evidence of your child’s absence such as a holiday booking confirmation form or flight details. This is a safeguarding issue and all information will be confidential. The impact of this absence will be monitored and procedures will be put in to place if your child’s attendance level declines as a result of this.

The attendance is dealt with by Mrs Clark, if you have any queries with your child's attendance please contact them via the school office.
